I draw a lot of my inspiration from analog horror and horror/weird art. With the central theme of What's Past Cooper Point? being hope and not horror, I had to get creative with distorted elements. Ultimately though, these elements would not be used in the final product.
I am most proud of this piece, however, and do wish it got used. The red is representative of the red hue the world was washed over with once the catastrophe took place. and how that affects vision and the perception of nature and light as it reflects back to us.
Most design exploration began with photos of nature and the above-mentioned horror theme; a simple question of "what can I do to screw this up?" as is typical of most of my beginning creative process. A simple what-if question goes a long way for me, and opens the floodgates for other ideas as I am left to ruminate.
